People often have a lot of questions when they hear what we do. We’ve compiled a list of the more common questions here to give you a quick answer. But if you’re after more information, call us on (07) 3269 1277 or email us: sales@glassfx.net.au

1. What colours can you paint splashback glass?

We have created a standard range of colour samples for your convenience – these can be found in our showroom or with our mobile glass splashback staff.

We can also colour match to any type of paint, this can be done for a small extra cost and a few extra days in production. If you would like a very specific colour, we highly recommend that you request a sample.

2. What’s involved with the installation of a painted glass splashback or feature panel?

Your kitchen needs to be complete (including bench tops in and range hood up) so we can give you an accurate measure and quote. Upon acceptance and a 30% deposit your glass spashback will be manufactured in 10 working days. At the time of installation the home owner (or client) is required to be in attendance and the balance of monies is due. Most installations take under 2 hours.

3. What should I do to keep my glass panel looking its best?

Glass FX toughened glass panels are hardwearing if cared for correctly. The surface should be kept clean and free of surface build up. General household glass cleaning agents are suitable to be used with a chamois, soft sponge or cloth. Scouring pads, steel wool or grit patches can cause surface scratches.

4. Are there advantages in choosing a glass splashback over tiles?

Yes. There are no grout lines (making cleaning a breeze), there is a huge range of colour choices and installation usually takes less than 2 hours.

5. What shapes are available?

Glass FX glass panels can be cut to almost any shape or size. There are occasionally limitations as to where joins occur because of size, or shape.

Most splashback’s are either a Rectangle or T-piece, and can include corner cut outs, centre cut outs, Power point cut outs and holes. We can even cut to match a curved range hood.

Textured glass can have flat sections to allow for holes, fixing or signage. Panels can include artwork or logo’s slumped into the design and can be cut to many shapes and sizes (including round and wavy shapes).

6. How safe is textured glass, especially when used as partitioning?

The glass we use for partitioning is quite thick and we toughen each panel as standard policy – it would take a very large impact for it to smash.

Our standard range of textured toughened glass has recently been certified as “Grade A Safety Glass.” It is very safe for around the home, public spaces and children.

7. How long has Glass FX been doing this for?

The team at Glass FX has a combined experience of over 30 years in the glass business. We have been operating from our factory in Sandgate for the past four years.

8. Which areas do you service?

We have supplied glass to people and businesses all over Australia. We install our product all over Brisbane and from the Gold Coast to the Sunshine Coast . If you live in a regional area we can also arrange to send our product to your local builder or cabinetmaker to install.
